Join co-hosts Brent and Whitney as they share a ‘southern view’ (and some definite drawl) on the vibrant hobby of collecting, restoring and playing the arcade and pinball classics from the late 70’s to today.
The podcast covers everything from the golden age of arcade gaming to the newest pinball titles currently hitting the streets and everything in between. Add in technical talk segments, collecting and restoration stories, interviews and sit-in guests as well as game room updates, forum news, listener mail and twitter questions (with the occasional live streams) and you’ve got a couple hours of your life you’ll never get back!

116: The Audacity (Games) of it all
We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Holiday break and the new year is off to a good start. We find ourselves at the beginning of 2024 and the last installment of the 3-part panel series from the 2022 show featuring David Crane, Dan Kitchen and Garry Kitchen. In this discussion we focus on modern gaming and the formation of Audacity Games!
115: The Griffith Experience
The time has drawn nigh – so much so that Brent goes solo on this episode so we can keep the train rolling. We cover some short updates, discuss our upcoming visit to the Music City Multicon and then get straight to the heart of the matter – the second installment of the 3-part panel series from the 2022 show featuring David Crane, Dan Kitchen and Garry Kitchen!
114: Tires and Soap
We’re bringing the heat despite Summer winding down – join us for discussion on project updates, some new soldering and repair tool talk, a drastic change at the Atari Age store, a new Atari 7800 multi cart AND our first of 3 interviews with David Crane, Dan Kitchen and Garry Kitchen as we take a guided tour through the history of Activision, Absolute Entertainment and Audacity Games as told by the pioneers that created it!

109: (the) Dude
We review October’s Music City Multi-Con, talk about project progress and feature the pop-culture/podcasters unhinged panel from the expo – All this and more for this month’s show!
108: The David Corrigan Experience
Let’s call this one the “After Summer Hiatus 2022 show” 🙂
We’re back in the studio after a rather impromptu break over the Summer and catching up on life, projects, more life and toss in some arcade and pinball talk along the way.
As a bonus, we have a virtual sit-in with David Corrigan, owner/organizer of the Music City Multi Con, as he takes us through all the highlights of the 2022 version of the expo, taking place Oct. 28-30th, right outside of Nashville, TN. We’ll be there conducting some panels, playing pinball, cruising the vendor booths and having an all-around great time – we hope to see you there!
107: Canned Heat
Let’s call this one the “Before Summer 2022 Hiatus show” 🙂
Yep, we admit it – the summer got away from us and we didn’t get this episode out nearly as quickly as intended. This one has been “in the can” for a couple of months, and we’ll let you decide if we brought any heat… (insert wah wah sound here).
We cover a host of topics from microscopes to power supplies to Rally-X and Toy Story 4 from JJP. Even though the pinball reveal is old news at this point, I don’t think our opinions are off the mark today, so give us a grade!
106: Saturday Night at the 2022 Louisville Arcade Expo
We’re live (rather, we were) at the 2022 Louisville Arcade Expo! It’s our Saturday night livestream show where Mike Vinikour and Dwight Sullivan (both from Stern Pinball) sit in for a great chat, Grace & Gareth report from the show floor, Phoebe Smith stops by and Buffet (KLOV) and Heath Ashley talk monitor and pinball repair!
105: Friday Night at the 2022 Louisville Arcade Expo
We’re live (rather, we were) at the 2022 Louisville Arcade Expo! It’s our Friday night livestream show and we feature quite a few notable guests from the arcade community. We talk shop, pop culture and JP (from Adam & JP) even stops by
104: The KLOV Kloset
It’s the (hopeful) end of Winter weather here in the Bluegrass and that means the expo circuit is right around the corner. In that vein, we feature a discussion about the upcoming 2022 Louisville Arcade Expo with organizers Corey Stup and Joe Stith and get amped up for the show – especially coming off of a two-year hiatus!
103: Spiderman’s Breakfast
It’s the podcasting breakfast of champions as we talk Spiderman:No Way Home, Brent’s Carnival King, Stern’s new Rush Pinball, Q&A on repairing the K7000 monitor, some 3D printing parts (that are now up on Thingiverse) and honor the genius of Lyman Sheats, Jr.
And we (non-ASMR) try some Ghostbusters cereal – yeah, it’ll all make sense after you listen to the show. 🙂
102: The Housecat
Just in the nick of time, we cross the finish line to round out 2021 and discuss what the past several months has been like for us here at the show.
As you know by now, we took a 3-month hiatus and we discuss that happening and what transpired that necessitated the break. Thanks to everyone who noticed the break, reached out and asked if we were OK – we appreciate each and every one of you!
This episode is dedicated to Whitney’s father, Housecat. Words will never be enough, but may the fishing be good every single day.
101: Maxine
Summer 2021 is winding down and we talk gaming while on vacation, some game repairs, a new Multi-Pac kit and a host of Pinball-related news!
100: Thank You For Being A Friend
It’s the BIG #100 and we pulled out all the stops! It’s over 5 hours of podcasting goodness with at least as many surprises thrown in for good measure along the way. Enjoy and we look forward to 100 more!
99: Have you heard from Ike Artin?
We channel our best Hank Hill this month and cover off on lots of arcade and arcade-related accessories talk, discuss whole-house surge suppression and the new Fathom classic re-release from Haggis Pinball.

game sales, truck alternator rebuilds, 3D printing, a refreshed look at soldering equipment, new Atari 2600 games and more!
97: Trolled By The Best
Stern trolled us, the Rottendog bit us and Brent is happy about a Make Trax – what’s up with that? We talk new test pattern generators, arcade multi-Pac kits, C64 and the Dreamcast gets some love as well!
96: Paint By Numbers
We are back to full hosting this month where we discuss Whitney’s recovery from COVID-19, classic computing, Sky Skipper revisited, Rotten Dog MPUs, 3D printer upgrades, gameroom LED lighting and Bob Ross. All in reverse order….maybe.
95: The Console Mountain
December 2020 – Brent is buried in a figurative (and possibly, literal) console mountain, so give him some love as he hosts the show solo this month!
94: The Pulaski Maneuver
It’s our (after) Halloween episode and there’s nothing scary about this show! It’s all about tool storage, arcade mutli-games & HSS kits, mailbag follow ups, JJP’s GnR Pinball and some 3-D printed pinball parts. To top that off, we feature another PRGE 2019 panel discussion from some Atari coin-op greats!
93: It’s Not Pretty
September 2020 – It’s our first “mailbag” episode and we respond to listener feedback, FB questions, Tweets and everything in-between! We also catch up on gameroom updates, hear from Howard Scott Warshaw and break some pinball glass – literally.
92: Wakanda Forever
August 2020 took more than it gave, but we remember both Chadwick Boseman and Curt Vendell in this episode. We speculate on the newest Stern “Avengers: Infinity Quest” title, discuss a new arcade opening in TN, feature a PRGE 2019 panel on Dan Kitchen’s Goldrush and spend some of Brent’s money!
91: The Quarantine Chronicles
It’s our “conquering quarantine” episode! Back in the (socially-distanced) studio for our return show, we discuss what’s been happening the past three months, give some gameroom and hobby updates, discuss the Cricut Air Explore and 3D printers as well as a new Kickstarter. Don’t forget to check out our Lit Frames giveaway as well – winner to be announced on our Sept. show!

It’s the 2020 LAX Friday night livestream show where we talk to Jeremy Fleitz, Corey Sims and Daniel Pesina (from Mortal Kombat 1/2 fame)!
88: MPH
88 MPH – it’s the seminal episode that we’ll never get to name this way again! We name the winner of the Superman ’78 translite (sponsored by Lit Frames) and cover off on at least 16 (at last count) different arcade, pinball and console gaming topics to make this month worthy of it’s namesake!
87: He’s On Fire
It may be January here in the States, but the (NBA Jam) heat is on! We talk gameroom updates, Getaway restoration, metal aprons, art blades and get a visit from Joe Stith & Corey Stup @ The Louisville Arcade Expo, as it’s the 10th anniversary show this year! We also “podcast after dark” with J. Patrick from Pod Casserole and Cale Hernandez from Marco Specialties. Yep – it’s all in there.
86: Pick A Number
It’s a wrap! 2019 is in the rear-view with 2020 in the windshield! It’s monthly updates + interview-extravaganza with Cale Hernandez, Mike Vinikour and Patrick McKennon – all recorded at the 2019 Grand Ole Gameroom Expo!

84: Bless His Heart
It’s a whole lotta September and little bit of October for this show! We have guest-host Jim Hale sitting in for Whitney this month and Brent drives the bus as they cover off on 10+ topics that range from thoughts on Stern’s Jurassic Park & Elvira, the lament of Suncoast Pinball, the Pontiac Fiero catching fire, the new “Star Wars” Arcade 1Up machines and how cast changes to the Dukes of Hazzard scarred them both for life.
All up, just another normal episode!
83: Brent’s Front Porch
So much pinball to cover – 2 new game releases, playfield clear coat issues, a Pod Casserole challenge and a SWEET add-on for your Cinematronic arcade games – and that’s only 60 minutes of the show!

77: The Day Late, Dollar Short Show
Technology can’t keep us down! We’re a day late, but back in full force!
76: The Zebco 33
It’s Christmas and New Years all squashed together and what better way to give ‘ol 2018 the proper boot than to tell a bunch of arcade-related fishing stories (hence the title tie-in…get it?!?!?) and do absolutely no reflection whatsoever on the past year. Yep – we stick to the script and will get all gushy-eyed in January as we look forward to 2019!
Best of the Yuletide spoodlings to you and yours from Brent and Whitney!
75: The Number 2 Mic Drop
We recap everything from Thanksgiving to the Grand Ole Gameroom Expo to a panel discussion with Marco Spec and Stern! Oh – and we do more plumbing. It’s awesome.
74: I can do that with spray foam!
It’s all about the “stuff” this month – ColorDMD, new Pinball, Stern Code updates, flashlights and tool boxes! Oh yeah – we spend some money and read some feedback as well – it’s the best plumbing podcast EVAR!
73: It’s a show…literally..
It’s a show about literally everything! Literally!
72: Chrome won’t get you home
Lots of posing, lots of talking and lots of making stuff up. Like the old saying goes “chrome won’t get you home” but we sure pretended it did.
71: The Frost-Free Spigot
We fix everything this month – ALL the arcades and pinball along with the proverbial kitchen sink (and some leaky water pipes, some bathroom tile and a busted spigot). Seriously.
70: It’s All Upside!
We check off our ‘watchpot’ list with everything from 2018 SFGE to TNA to the Atari VCS to Sky Skipper ON THE SWITCH. Yep – it’s all upside!

We wrap up the year 2017 with just about anything you can think of – news, eprom programmer talk, Ready Player One, Pinball wishlists and game discussion, Star Wars and of course – Burl Ives.
61: We Are Professional Grade
Thanksgiving comes and goes so quickly anymore, that it seems like the month of November just flies by – whether we want it to or not. Despite the pace, it’s always important to take the time and reflect on what to be thankful for this year. For us, it’s being back home safe and sound (Whitney) to get back in the studio and for not blowing out a Christmas budget (Brent) by spending too much money – and Whitney invents yet another new word! Did we say we are professionals?
60: Almost a Show…
It’s a halloween freakshow, but without the freakshow and we’re missing the clowns! Special guest-host David Corrigan sits in for Whitney as he visits with Alex for the UK Sky Skipper reveal!
59: #20DollarNotActuallyAWord
Take out Summer 2017 in style – with a 50V shock, a Gorf and some discussion about the “good old days”… Playmeter style.
58: Tough as nails but ugly as sin
Brent threw down the gauntlet with this episode – if you can find an uglier patch of carpet than what he has in his workroom, then you win absolutely nothing – nada, zip, zilch…basically just bragging rights on the fact that you’re keeping it real while working on your games.
We have the usual gameroom and hobby updates, discuss Fandom Fest, collecting Funco Pops (we even open a few on air) discuss the good/bad on various multimeters, spend some of Brent’s money and discuss a topic that we thought would never be covered on an arcade/pinball podcast – the arrest of legendary pinball designer John Trudeau. All this and feedback too – August 2017 goes down in the history books.
57: They Went Straight to Plaid!

Episode 41- The Black Hole Notebook Ghostbusters?
The words ‘Back in the saddle’ has a lot of connotations, but we all know what it means in the land of BT – EPIC show at EPIC normal length! Smile
We roll out of April and into May returning to the studio and catching up on all things arcade and pinball since our livestream shows at the 2016 Louisville Arcade Expo. We sit down and catch up on hobby and project progress over the past six weeks, talk tech, catch up on quite a bit of pinball news and in an unprecedented display of shrewdness, showmanship and podcasting sound effects, Brent spends both his – and Whitney’s – money this month!
We also have the opportunity to hear from the ‘King of Flow’ himself – Mr. Steve Ritchie in our first ‘seminar segments’ from Louisville Arcade Expo. Steve talks about pinball design, the state of the industry and the economy, Game of Thrones and more. I apologize up front a bit for the audio – it required a good amount of post-processing but it came out really well all things considered.
Episode 40–Saturday Night Live from the 2016 Louisville Arcade Expo

Episode 34–12…It’s The Magic Number
As we bring October 2015 to a close, it’s time to start looking towards the upcoming holidays, time with family and friends and hopefully some quality game restoration time! We’re definitely looking forward to the same and to help kick off ‘our favorite time of the year’ we have a new episode to help get you through some of that oh-so-quiet garage time applying bondo and huffing magic eraser suds. 🙂
One thing that never ceases to amaze is just how much you can accomplish, even on a short schedule. Both Brent and I were on the road most of the month for work and vacation, yet we still managed to cover off on a lot of topics:
Brent goes to Disney and gives us the low-down on Disney Quest, he makes some great progress on the Burgertime and gives the Big Guns the boot.
Whitney gets another Satan’s Hollow, wishes he had worked on the Zoo Keeper, laments starting on the Rally-X and almost drops an R-Type to its death.
Add to that we cover off on everything you’d ever want to know about rebuilding a G07, respond to a boat-load of feedback, Brent finally understands why magic marker isn’t OEM on the Burgertime and talk about why you don’t take Whitney fishing.
Episode 33–Who Didn’t See That One Coming?
Fall is in the air and with that comes the upcoming Holidays, family time and (hopefully) some good garage and playing time, as well. Speaking of playing, it’s an interesting point to consider – if you could have any arcade games you wanted, what would make the cut on your top-10 list? Brent and I answer that question this month and dive into the titles that win out over all others. It’s a fun and lively discussion and it’s a segment we’ve been meaning to do for months and we’re happy to slot it in for this episode.
Personally – I was glad to see that Brent loves Donkey Kong so much… I knew he’d eventually come around.
Once Brent came down off his Donkey Kong high, we were able to get back to business and discuss some game room updates, new reproduction parts for this month, respond to a TON of feedback (thank you!!), do a mini-review of the movie Pixels and we learn a little about Brent’s multi-game cabinet… great story and one that will certainly hit home for anyone who shares the hobby with their family.
So grab your favorite Oktoberfest and warm up with a good blankie while episode #33 gives you more insight into our psyche than you probably ever wanted!

Episode 29 – 1To1 with David Crane
This is the fifth and final episode in our coverage of the 2015 Louisville Arcade Expo and we’re excited to be bringing you this very special interview with David Crane.
Episode 28–The Internal Magic of the Atari 2600
This is the fourth episode in our coverage of the 2015 Louisville Arcade Expo and we are proud to bring you the audio (and video) from the David Crane seminar entitled “The Internal Magic of the Atari 2600”.
Episode 27 – It’s Happy Hour (and then some)!
This is the third of a whopping five special episodes that encompass our live coverage of the 2015 Louisville Arcade Expo!
This show’s format is what I’d like to think of as “unplugged” as we camped out in a hotel room with the mics and portable recorders and 12+ people joined in on the fun where some beers were consumed, gaming was the topic and the Expo was the backdrop. It was a great time and is something we’d definitely like to do more of.
Episode 26 – Saturday Night Live from the 2015 Louisville Arcade Expo
This is the second of a whopping five special episodes that encompass our live coverage of the 2015 Louisville Arcade Expo! This show was recorded live on Saturday night, March 7th, 2015 and includes coverage from the expo floor and several sit-in guest interviews from friends of the show (Shawn & Sharon O’Shea, Steve Ridge, Patrick Wall (sons Andrew & Davis) from GameroomJunkies, David Paul (sons Ben & Jason ) from LifeUnderGlass) that were in attendance, as well as Whitney’s daughter Grace and Michael Ridge!
Episode 25 – Hear the Fool, Be the Fool, LOVE the Fool!
April 1st is a day of jokes, gags and fun so Brent and I decided it would be the perfect opportunity to poke some fun at ourselves and compile a collection of outtakes from previous episodes, as well as some bloopers from some of our past live shows!
It takes a lot of mistakes to make up a show episode (trust us, we generate tons of them every month) but we picked some of the best for everyone to enjoy and thought it neat to put out a mini-show between regular episodes.
We trust you’ll get a few laughs at our expense (as it should be) and enjoy the show. We’re holding a few more back (hey, we wanna put together a 2x show for next year!) so rest assured there’s more then enough tomfoolery (#20dollarword) to go around!
Episode 24 – Friday Night Live from the 2015 Louisville Arcade Expo
This is the first of a whopping five special episodes that encompass our live coverage of the 2015 Louisville Arcade Expo!
This show was recorded live on Friday night, March 6th, 2015 and includes live coverage from the show floor and several sit-in guest interviews from friends of the show that were in attendance.
Episode 23 – My Bucket Runneth Empty
*whew*… we just barely made it in under the “short month” deadline for this episode.. weather here in KY has been nothing short of “tough” the past several weeks and getting together to record has been a bit of a challenge due to that. BUT – we found a decent day break in the -10 temperatures and took advantage of it and had a blast putting together this month’s show.
Episode 22 – I love them, but they don’t love me back
We’re ringing in 2015 with a bit of flair by way of some updates to the podcast, and we trust that everyone is as excited as we are for some of the changes we’re making for the New Year!
With the Holidays now squarely behind us, we take some time to revisit the year for a bit and also cover what we’ve been up to for the past month – which turned into far, far more than either of us had originally thought. I’ve (Whitney) been hammering on the ZooKeeper resto project and cabbaging as many tube swap candidates that I can find. Brent on the other hand has been BUSY.. so much so that I thought we’d have to split his updates out into a separate episode! Speaking of, he goes on the road for our first interview – New Years Eve @ The Place, Retro Arcade and not only talks with owner Cary Chaney and world-record holder Estel Goffinet (and laments why arcade games just don’t seem to like him very much) as well as some of the most important (and often under-appreciated) people in the hobby – Arcade Wives!
In an interview double-header, we sit down with the guys from the Louisville Arcade Expo and cover what to expect from this years’ show as well as catch up on general happenings in the show circuit and discuss the special guests (David Crane and more!) that will be making an appearance in Louisville in March 2015.

Episode 20 – Welcome To My Intervention
Merry Christmas everyone!
This episode sees us amazing even ourselves on the sheer amount of content we can pack into a single month’s episode. In short, this month’s show should easily outlast even the longest of ‘Griswold-esque’ family get-togethers and equal about 2.7 stocking stuffers!
Episode 19 – The Village and the Idiot
We’re back in the studio to recap all things related to Pinball Expo 2014 where we run through all the announcements, give our thoughts on everything we saw and discuss the most notable parts of the show. We then discuss what we’ve been working on in-between travels over the past month and Brent recaps his progress on the Burgertime Project (the winner in the “Put Brent to work” poll) while Whitney finally (*finally*) gets one of the games he’s been after for years (a grail?!?!?) – Zoo Keeper!
We are fortunate this month, as we have two interviews – our first guest is Andrew Heighway of Heighway Pinball and we talk about all things related to Full Throttle and get some info on the upcoming Alien Pinball. Gerry Stellenberg of Multimorphic Pinball sits down with Brent for our second interview and discusses the P3 pinball platform while we get some scoop on Lexi Lightspeed and Cosmic Cart Racing!
We announce the winner of our first listener contest, play some voicemail, respond to some feedback and talk a bit about another upcoming Chicago trip where we go back to Stern for a factory tour!
All this and more and Brent finally gives us the answer to the question we never asked – purple. My answer was 42, so we had to come up with a compromise. 😉 I don’t think Brent ever found his dancing shoes…
Episode 18 – Whole Lotta Pinball Going On
This is part 3 of 3 of our coverage from Pinball Expo 2014. This episode is a recording of our livestream show on Saturday, October 18th, where we recap the weekend and talk through everything we’ve seen and what really sticks as we wrap up the expo. We talk about several of the more unique games at Expo, we give EM’s some love and talk about the afternoon’s autograph session (where Whitney goes all fanboi for Steve Richie).
We also spend some time talking to Patrick Wall from Gameroom Junkies to get his input on the expo as well as listener Shawn O’Shea – who gifted us with some awesome #FAARPARR shirts during the podcasters panel and was a big help to us over the weekend.
Episode 17 – So Much Canned Cheese… So Little Time…
This is part 2 of 3 of our coverage from Pinball Expo 2014. This episode is a recording of the panel discussion we participated in entitled “Covering the World of Pinball, One Podcast at a Time”, held on Saturday October 18th. This was a moderated discussion led by Expo organizer David Fix.
Episode 16 – So Many Shiny Things
This is part 1 of 3 of our coverage from Pinball Expo 2014. This episode is a recording of our livestream show on Friday, October 17th. We take to the show floor and discuss the sights and sounds and score some great interviews in the process.
Episode 15 – Happy Birfday, the 20 dollar word

Episode 14 – Someone got a smoking deal…
Brent and I return to the studio after several “shows on the road” as we settle back in front of the microphone and catch up on happenings since our last studio episode…which by my count is actually three episodes back… man… time does fly.
We recount the happenings from a few of our Cincinnati road trips as well as our closing thoughts on the 2014 edition of the Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo. We also catch up on our latest acquisitions – which actually turned out to be far more than I think either of us expected – and we read through a good amount of listener e-mail and feedback, as well as talk about some of the latest news and discuss some reproduction parts. Keep the feedback coming as we really appreciate it and it helps the show tremendously!

Episode 12 – Live from SFGE 2014 – Talking with the Arcade Legends – Panel Discussion 2
In this episode, we are live from the Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo in Atlanta, GA where we have the privilege of hosting a panel discussion with several of the “Arcade Legends” in the scene today.
We delve into many topics on this panel and cover everything from what it takes to be a world-class gamer, to the inspiration behind the Twin Galaxies trading card program to some insight into the production of the movie “The King of Arcades” by Richie Knucklez.
We cover a lot of ground, so get ready for some really insightful discussion!
Episode 11 – Live from SFGE 2014 – Pimp Your Ride: Creating Custom Vids and Pins
In this episode of the podcast, Brent and Whitney are in Atlanta, GA for the Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo and have the distinct privilege of hosting a panel discussion on the topic of what it takes to create custom arcade games and pinball titles in today’s gaming industry.
We delve into game development. how to get published and make a name for yourself in this scene, as well as discuss Pinball development, Pinball 2000 modifications and how brand new games (and transforming existing games into new ones) gets done. You’ll also hear the world debut of the breaking news – which was live at the expo – on the upcoming “Python’s Pinball Circus” “re-envisioning” (as in being made the way Python Anghelo wanted) that is being done by Circus Maximus!
Episode 10 – Live from The Place Retro Arcade with John Salter and Estel Goffinet
We take the show ‘live on the road’ to ‘The Place, Retro Arcade’ in Cincinnati, OH to talk world record-setting with Armor Attack marathon record holder John Salter and Donkey Kong contender Estel Goffinet. Whitney loses his voice, Brent carries the mail and we almost hit a goat at 75mph. It doesn’t get any better!
Episode 09 – Batavia Bound and Down
We go on the road to attend a Python Anghelo tribute party, play ALL KINDS of beautiful and rare pinball titles, talk Quantum and Major Havoc PCB reproduction with Luke Dyson and interview Steve Ridge and his son Michael about their collecting experiences.
Episode 08 – ChairKon, The Show Of….??

Episode 07c – 2014 Louisville Arcade Expo – John Trudeau & Python Anghelo Seminar
This is the third of three ‘special episodes’ that encompasses (and concludes) our coverage of the 2014 Louisville Arcade Expo.
This show was recorded Saturday afternoon, March 8th 2014 and is the audio of the John Trudeau and Python Anghelo seminar session.
What makes this interview and seminar session so special is that this seminar turned out to be the last public appearance by Python before his passing on April 9th, 2014.
Episode 07b – 2014 Louisville Arcade Expo – Saturday Night Livestream Show
Join us for this special live broadcast of the show direct from the floor of the 2014 Louisville Arcade Expo. This show was recorded on Saturday night, March 8th, 2014.
Episode 07a – 2014 Louisville Arcade Expo – Friday Night Livestream Show
Join us for this special live broadcast of the show direct from the floor of the 2014 Louisville Arcade Expo. This show was recorded the night of Friday March 7th, 2014.
Episode 6a–The ‘kid’ in all of us
We are back with a special ‘mini-episode’ this week in preparation for the upcoming Louisville Arcade Expo that’s taking place this upcoming weekend, March 7th – 9th, 2014.
Episode 06 – What Time (Pilot) Is It?
Brent and I venture into some new ground with the 6-month anniversary episode and respond to some listener requests by hosting the first of a series of editorial segments on ‘what is retro’ and ‘restored vs. refurbished vs. reproduction’ and discuss the merits of each and where we feel each topic has relevance in collecting and preserving our beloved games.
We also do some more in-depth coverage on what will be our first ‘podcast appearance’ with our booth at the Louisville Arcade Expo. We have lots of discussion around that topic as Brent and I will be hosting several panel discussions, doing some live streaming and recording some live interviews as well. We will also be taking up a collection for the GoFundMe drives for Barry Oursler and Python Anghelo.
We also spend some time talking about current project progress, artwork and parts reproduction parts coming available this month and anything else that we can cram in between segments!
Curious about the show title? We pimp Time Pilot no less than 20 times this month (in a number of points through the episode), so we only felt it proper to give back a little respect.
Episode 05 – Who’s BUGging us now?
Episode #05 is epic, and I don’t know any other way to put it! Brent and I strap ourselves to the chairs in the recording studio and pretty much let it roll – show notes be damned!
We cover a lot of ground in this episode and there’s plenty of arcade and pinball content this month to please even the most discerning of collectors. Brent and I cover what we’ve been up to over the Christmas Holiday and New Years, talk through some current restoration project progress, visit an EPIC pinball game room with private collector Larry Pavey, talk through the latest available arcade reproduction parts, battle Brent being sick, perform an impromptu Battle Zone joystick grommet test and we even have our first ever ‘cross-podcast cameo’ with Charlie and Bug from the Spooky Pinball podcast!
There’s a lot more that I’ve left out, but you’ll have to listen to get it all! Speaking of that, be sure to swap out your Walkman batteries for a fresh set of Ray-O-Vacs , because this episode weighs in a little over 6 hours (Yep – SIX HOURS…. Brent and I were on a roll). How’s that for value, eh? Just leave a quarter on the toilet and don’t forget to wash your hands on the way out!
We had a pretty large ‘outtake’ selection for this month, so be sure to listen to the Spooky cameo and the end of the show – it’s worth it!

Episode 02 – Lay A Strap To It
Welcome back to episode #2 of the podcast! In this episode, we cover a wide range of topics – everything from classic board games, to pinball mods to moving games to ratchet straps (ah… ratchet straps) to accidentally trashing a classic *and* we have our first ‘in-studio’ interview! We’re grateful to have Ed Lutz, owner of Arcade Odyssey in Louisville, KY – a local arcade and pinball repair business – sit in for a discussion that spans the years and we get to learn a lot about the man behind the ‘elutz’ handle.

Hey guys! Been put on to your podcast from our friends on No Quarter podcast. Really like it so far – especially your accents! I’ll give you a plug on our Podcast next show.
We’ll link you on our approved podcasts list too.
cheers and keep up the good work!
Victor (virtvic from http://www.tenpencearcade.co.uk)
Hey Victor!
Thanks so much for taking the time to write such kind words, and Brent and I both are very happy to hear that you are enjoying the show! Now that we know about your podcast, we’ll subscribe and begin taking up the back catalog and we’ll put you guys on a link exchange as well. It’s awesome to know we have listeners outside the US – makes us feel good that we are getting some reach!
Take care and thanks again!
Great podcast. There is absolutely no collecting community where I live. People either think my games are just “cool” or they think I am crazy for owning them. Nobody here gets it. You guys definitely get it. I only wish you were able to produce episodes weekly instead of monthly but they are much longer than other (no names mentioned) arcade related podcasts, so that makes up for it.
OregonPacman,
We’re glad you are listening to – and enjoying – the show and we’re happy to help you with a virtual collector community – and I’m glad that you are connecting with the show on the level you are. It’s good for us to hear that other folks are enjoying the format we have the show in and ‘get it’ along with us!
Brent and I have talked about upping the frequency of the show, but for now it would be too much work for us to handle. With the length of each show we are currently producing, there is a TON of backside work on producing each month and we like the fact that we’re able to deliver so much content – that is on point and consistent – each month. We’ll see what the future holds!
Hey guys,
I can’t wait till another episode of your podcast gets posted. I find your podcast get me more excited about the hobby than all but one of the arcade/pinball podcasts I have found. Keep it up! Thank you.
Hey Bitartrate!
Thanks a lot for leaving the comment and we are really happy that you like the show! We’re having a lot of fun with the show and we trust it comes through and are glad to know we are striking a chord with you guys.
Take care!
Whitney
